I look at the camera as sort of a missing link between motion picture photography and still photography.

The director is the channel through which a motion picture reaches the screen.

Things danced on the screen do not look the way they do on the stage. On the stage, dancing is three-dimensional, but a motion picture is two-dimensional.

A dream is a still picture until you put it in motion and it becomes reality.

The mindset that I have on every project I take on is, 'How do I make this interesting enough for me to want to stop and look at it?' So in that regard, what I do behind the camera, whether it's still or motion picture, is the same.
