I really didn't have time to be scared or angry. I was just reacting. My first thought was to make sure everyone was safe.

I guess they just decided to bail. They kept saying, 'Where's your money? Where's the money?' . . . We're just working folks. There wasn't any money to give them.

We have performed promotion and press but we have never been able to fit it into the schedule.

When we speak about the interruptions as well, it is not just for the individual man to get back to his life, it's also for his significant others — whether it is a spouse or his children. Certainly the interruptions affect his mental and emotional state. He is going to be probably angrier as a result of being embarrassed or feeling humiliated because of constantly having to take breaks or feeling a lack of control in his life.

All you can do as an artist is just strive to make the best record you can and ride the rollercoaster as it goes up and down.

We've had, knock on wood, over 12 singles, ... But for somebody who's not a truly Backstreet fan, [who] wants to go out and buy five different records? ... To be able to go and buy their greatest hits, I'd do that in a heartbeat.
