I really want to stress the importance of membership. Last year membership about doubled the membership of the previous year.

Whenever we conduct a large-scale operation, rumors begin circulating about nonexistent ICE operations. All I can do is stress that, although we do enforce immigration laws, we do it in a targeted manner, not anything random.

Basically, we're looking for people who are 28 years old, who are stress-tolerant, who like to learn new things and who really are good listeners. This is a very serious commitment. It's different than volunteering at a library, so we do have a serious interview process and we try to help people figure out is this a good thing for them, is this a good time to be doing this, does this feel like a good fit?

We just had our first budding artist class (for) kindergarten through second grade and they were at full capacity.

This is a chance for the arts council to show we appreciate member support.
