I remember, at one point, my folks were really pushing me because I was obviously good at [acting] and they gave me a choice - audition or be an altar boy, ... I was an altar boy for six months.

I could relate to him so easily and truthfully, ... I was leaving home for the first time, and (Justin's) about to leave home. He has a weird and good relationship with his parents, and I have a weird and good relationship with my parents. I take relationships way too seriously, and that's exactly what he does. Coincidentally, the similarities were relatable. It's so damn lucky.

I don't think that's a bad habit; I think sucking your thumb is an OK habit, ... Somebody's bad habit could be smoking, that's kind of a bad habit because it's harmful to you. But thumb-sucking really can't hurt you, except for your dental plan.

I got on a plane to audition for this part, ... I could relate to it really easily, which is good.

My character wants his parents to have all the answers. But by the end, Justin realizes you don't need all the answers.

When it's working, what acting is really about is getting into the essence of a moment in a creative, joyous way - through whatever frees you up.
