I saw them mow over neighborhoods that could ill afford to have the MTD. We need something in writing. The citizens of Savoy want some resolution to this controversy.

I'm willing to wait until we're all on board knowing this is the right thing to do. But I really don't trust the MTD to back off from their threats. I don't think it is fair to the citizens of Savoy.

I want a written agreement from them saying they have no intention of annexing us.

The impulse to write things down is a peculiarly compulsive one, inexplicable to those who do not share it, useful only accidentally, only secondarily, in the way that any compulsion tries to justify itself. I suppose that it begins or does not begin in the cradle.
