I started the site as a hobby while I was a nursing student, and 10 years later, over 500,000 people visit each month. It's wonderful to offer my peers and colleagues a place where they can come to network with other nurses and have some fun in the process.

Before this, every single nursing program in the state of Oregon had different prerequisites, so a student who wanted to apply here and at Linn-Benton (Community College) had to take a whole different set of prerequisites even to apply. That's crazy. This (change) is a huge benefit to students.

I got involved when I was a graduate student at UCLA when UCLA was the first site on the net.

Everyone goes back to Florence Nightingale and her lamp. That's not where nursing started.

Later on, after I'd met this gentleman with the interesting site, ... he found a Googlewhack of his own. I ended up going to meet that person, and that person found a Googlewhack, so I went and met that person and that person found a Googlewhack, so I kept going and going.
