I think anyone who sat through this game for three-and-a-half hours figured it would end in that kind of way. To Matt?s credit, he hit the ball hard. I would have preferred it on the ground, but if you keep it down things like that happen sometimes.

We have clearly not made things easy on ourselves during the conference season. To get back on track and doing the difficult things needed to win two out of three in a weekend series ... in the long run, you sort of say now next weekend becomes important again.

We?re fighting it a little bit right now. You have to play through it like this sometimes during the season.

He?s been a quality kid and obviously he gets the chance to come home, which I think helped him a little bit and was probably fun for him. We had him in a spot where we were down 2-1 and we hit a fly ball that was a poor approach on our part, instead of hitting the ball up the middle or the other way like we preach.

It?s a day you have to file away and move on. Getting a ?W? and getting out of it was important for us.
