I think I ran a 23-minute (4K). All these old people were beating me. I wasn't going to do that again.

As a team leader, that's what I should do. Help the team out. If I can pace someone through the race, that's great. Kara just needed someone to take her out a little slower. We work well together in practice, so why not in a race?

It's a great feeling to put it together all at once. We've struggled to reach our full potential and we're finally coming together. A loss at SAC was motivation for us to come back and have a good race. Snider had an awesome race at SAC and they also had a good race today. I'm just glad we were able to win.

Quite a few people are quite upset. It comes up at every meeting threat we go to. I get phone calls one or two times a week.

I want to thank them from the bottom of our hearts. I know it's hard for people to understand the grief we're going through unless they've been through it. They've been very understanding.
