I think I'm a better singer than I used to be. When we started I didn't see vocals as that important, it was just another instrument. I've changed my mind about that now.

I just listen to what people say, absorb it and then regurgitate it later. I'm very nosy, I think.

When it comes down to vocals, I want to hear something that's going to be melodic. David's always had those animalistic instincts of making those gut sounds, or whatever you want to call it. But he's developed a really strong singing voice.

Mark's a great singer and great performer and songwriter. He took over the vocals and harmony singing with me.

He (Peel) was a wonderful person. He was a genuinely nice person, which is rare in this business. He was a true music fan in a business where most DJs are mainly fans of themselves. I was so in awe of him when we first met. I grew up listening to him and I had so much respect for him. We played his 50th birthday party - and his 60th. I still got nervous playing in front him. He was John Peel.
