I think it's a show only HBO could do, and those are usually the shows that ultimately work for the network.

I think it will get mostly positive reviews but some people will be put off by the general weirdness of the show.

It's a really edgy, risky television show that to me brings back memories of 'Twin Peaks.' It's complicated, confusing and beautifully shot.
