I think since the date of his arrest, my client has been held illegally. I think his constitutional rights have been violated.

I take the position that, because of the ex post facto clause, in essence, my client is being held for a crime that is no longer a crime because the statute of limitations has expired.

I think this is good law. At some point in time, we have to say to defendants that if the statute of limitations has run out, it's between you and your maker - or your conscience.

Women saying, 'I'm not a feminist' is my greatest pet peeve. Do you believe that women should be paid the same for doing the same jobs? Do you believe that women should be allowed to leave the house? Do you think that women and men both deserve equal rights? Great, then you're a feminist.

The new text substantially advances the discussion and gives a good basis to achieve a stronger human rights council, assuming there is a decision to have members of the council elected by a two-thirds majority.

To me, a feminist belongs in the same category as a humanist or an advocate for human rights. I don't see why someone who's a feminist should be thought of differently.
