I think that the incredible turnout in places like Dallas is just reflective of the deeply felt sense in this country that we have a broken immigration system that desperately needs to be fixed.

It's reflective of the sense of urgency both sides felt. The U.A.W. saw the handwriting on the wall. They feared a nuclear option, like killing health care benefits for retirees.

From all corners of this country ... we are choosing to speak out in a nationwide movement for immigration justice that is strong, vibrant and growing in this country.

I thought there might be a few people around. I had no idea that I would encounter this incredible turnout, ... Watching these Connecticut Yankees get ready to help some Cajuns in Louisiana, southerners in Mississippi and Alabama, is a great sight.
