I think the graduate students in science take these rankings very seriously. We work tirelessly here to provide an individual education to our students. If anything, we've gotten better. We certainly have not gotten worse.

Medicine must continually improve, and this depends on partnerships of clinical and basic science work. These summer projects let students see how this kind of work goes on both in the lab and the clinic and gives them a chance to see if this combination is right for them.

It is certainly a distraction. I don't think it slows down the science substantially. ... People make discoveries. People make drugs.

The students are helping their high school, they work hard, and it's a good product.

The honors come in English, math, science and social studies, which indicate not only how accomplished our students are but how well-rounded they are.
