I think this is a real tribute to their courage. I think that this shows we have an environment here where people are comfortable doing that. The university is very pleased that they did.

The search committee was impressed with Bill's breadth of knowledge and understanding of the university-government relationship. His interests in research, innovation and science and technology will be great assets to MIT in Washington. We all look forward to working with him.
