I think we need to do some deep soul searching about what's important in our lives and renew our spirit and our spiritual thinking, whether it's through faith-based religion or just through loving nature or helping your fellow man.

We are fortunate people. It is our need and responsibility to help our fellow man.

I think it is important that we rebuild an atmosphere of forgiveness and civility in every aspect of our lives.

I think that we need mythology. We need a bedrock of story and legend in order to live our lives coherently.

We're all, whether we like it or not, gonna have to deal with bereavement at some point in our lives, and it's something I think, as a society, maybe we shy away from.

I'm Jewish and respect the traditions of Judaism, but through all the time I've spent photographing nature, I also have a deep appreciation for the power of the universe. No, not the power of the universe, but just celebrating life.
