I think we're a lot better team than we were on April 1. If that [first game] was a heavyweight fight, we got knocked out in the first quarter. This one I thought was a decision.

We haven't practiced well since the Duke game, and unfortunately, maybe we needed a loss to recognize that. We didn't handle success as well as we would have liked.

There's a very fine line between confidence and complacency. If you win the first game against a team, the worst thing you can do is fool yourself into thinking the second game will be easier. You don't want guys having that mind-set.

The first game is always interesting. We're going to find out a lot about where our team is. As for Fair Haven, I know they have improved from last year. We're not taking anything for granted.

It was a heavyweight fight. The team that capitalized on a mistake was going to win it in the end. Honestly, it very easily could have ended in a 3-3 tie.

Our season for upland game begins on the first of September and runs to the end of April.
