I think what Garth was doing was indulging himself, having a bit of a temper tantrum to get back at Stephen Harper.

If you're a news magazine and you want to tell your readers about the story, you've got to show the cartoons. So we did what I think every journalist should do.

He should be lucky we have freedom of speech in Canada because if we were in a country that didn't, he'd be in jail.

Freedom of speech trumps political correctness. I would say our magazine would publish an anti-Semitic or Holocaust denying cartoon if it meant Jews around the world were rioting because of it and burning embassies because of a cartoon. We would want to show our readers what all the fuss was about.

It's all a question of when do you want to try and temper things. At this point, there's no immediate danger and I don't think the Fed's actions are meant to slow the economy.
