I think you need to do something new to keep reinventing yourself.

What I look for in a script is something that challenges me, something that breaks new ground, something that allows me to flex my director muscle. You have got to think fast in this business, you've got to keep reinventing yourself to stay on top.

You've got to keep reinventing. You'll have new competitors. You'll have new customers all around you.

I think you're always trying to challenge yourself to do new things and not repeat yourself.

I try never to focus on the radio, just find great songs, find emotion and just write the best songs you can. I think when you get fixated on trying to do something too accurate, it becomes more washed out and less what you intended it to be. So I think each time the challenge for me is to try and reinvent a little bit.
