I thought our defense set the tone for the game early on, and we were able to ride that momentum for the rest of the game. Even when our second unit went in, we didn't have a drop off. We had (Ceres) down and we didn't let them back up.

We thought the game was over at halftime, but we came out flat in the third quarter. Our defense was just falling apart, and Catholic was getting more confident every time they came down the floor.

I thought when we went up by three, that would be the turning point, that we were ready to go on a run. I thought that was going to be it, but it didn't work out that way.

I felt really good being tied at halftime. We weren't shooting the ball well, but I thought that would get better, and I thought they were getting tired.

Our No. 6 guy, Steve Benoit, is a hockey player, and he came in and sealed the victory for us. We were neck and neck with Harwood ? they were up by one stroke coming into the sixth group ? and Steve came in with a 42, which was one of the best scores of the day.

In the VOL, you have to get over that victory and move on to the next game. It's Sonora's homecoming, so we know they're going to be very fired up and motivated.
