I took it as a frustrated, idiotic comment, especially considering the slop he was throwing up there. I mean, who is Josh Towers?

He's pitched so well. We're frustrated. He's obviously pitched a lot better than his record.

I don't mean to be a tyrant. A couple threes here and there, and you want to go and slop it up. That's not these kids. They haven't been like that all year. I wanted to remind them the time of year it is. That's disrespectful, and that's not our team.

They played well, ... especially considering we had some of the players playing out of position.

It's always embarrassing to come off the field, especially before throwing your first pitch, ... I was going to see what I could do with the first hitter and go from there. Basically, I played catch with (catcher Mike) Matheny the whole game. I was about 75 percent. One guy would pop it up, one guy would hit a ground ball. I just ran with it as long as I could. It was fun in a way.

Especially considering that the Bruins scored 11 goals on Robinson the previous week.
