I wanted to be on the mound at the end of the game. I had a lot of respect for guys who did it and who did it for a long time and I wanted to be out there and get my chance to show them I could do that.

It's a very high-pressure situation, but you expect people to have a lot of respect and race people like they always did. Whether that happens or not is just a situation of time will tell.

I know that Derek Bok commands such respect that he will receive the support. I'm very relieved that the turmoil is over.

As a coach, you look at your team a little more critically than others do. But you do respect the fact that coaches look at you as the No. 1 seed.
