I understand [Schwarzenegger] met with education coalition. As part of the education community we are always excited that there is a proposal for bringing money back to the schools.

There's not a more deserving man than him. The mark he's left on the community is fantastic.

We can say we are positively certified and can meet financial obligations for the next two years. The three percent required reserve has been met but we must be vigilant in watching the budget.

There are still some fundamental concerns over Prop. 98. What strings are attached to this money? Some are tied in grants.

Once you educate the boys, they tend to leave the villages and go search for work in the cities, but the girls stay home, become leaders in the community, and pass on what they’ve learned. If you really want to change a culture, to empower women, improve basic hygiene and health care, and fight high rates of infant mortality, the answer is to educate girls.

The Community Education Program is supported by the fees that are charged to the individuals who take the Community Education courses.
