I was a beginner again. I practiced hard and used to listen very closely to recordings of American jazz drummers such as Tony Williams and Kenny Clarke.

Tony is totally up for doing it; (drummer) Kenny and I are totally up for doing it. Tony wants to go out with a proper production, and it entails money. I think the agency is looking into that, but right now, I'm moving forward.

I got more used to my own voice, but still it's hard for me to listen to my own voice, or hear the recordings.

At 14 and 15, I used to listen to Tito Puente, Dave Valentine and everything that was happening with American jazz. I love it.

Touring with King Crimson wasn't a lot of fun for me. I had a lot of equipment, and when I was in improvised music I'd set it up myself, play the gig, and put it all away again.
