I was a little rusty and nervous. But I got focused and hit 11. I'd been telling my parents I was tired of 10 because I had hit that every round.

I had never gone first.

Since I took second, everybody counted on me going again. I want to go down and hit 11 or 12 [at state]. I definitely think it will help having been there. I learned how not to worry about it with all the people watching. I've done it two times before.

The parents have been essential to this process. Without their help, this never would have come together.

We have a good opportunity to be good parents right now.

My parents would always trace the sign of the cross on our foreheads before they kissed us goodnight.
