I was a Scout years ago, before the movement started, when my father took me fishing, camping and hunting. Then I was sorry that more girls could not have what I had. When I learned of the movement, I thought, here is what I always wanted other girls to have.

The independent girl is a person before whose wrath only the most rash dare stand, and, they, it must be confessed, with much fear and trembling.

We don't see that there is an imminent threat to hunting and fishing in this state.

It started off as a hobby. I was never one to do much fishing and hunting. On occasion I did. I was mostly a homebody with a fairy tale marriage. To tell you the truth I was an egghead growing up. I was a bookworm. I kept my head in books, a sort of introverted type person.

I'm an outdoors girl - I like to go fishing, riding four-wheelers, hunting.

I cover hunting, fishing and trapping, as they pertain to the outdoors. It's not about going out and killing. It's about helping nature and helping people strive for that type of lifestyle.
