I was lucky enough to be given books that weren't top sellers; books that were kind of under the radar.

So there's kind of a simultaneous aspect to pushing the boundaries, and being very safe.

Not everyone is lucky enough to be given space and trust.

I'm kind of the guy that does all the little things that go under the radar. I still try and bring energy and score some points, get some shots, steals -- whatever they ask. I think I am pretty much the same player, just more experienced, better and I get more minutes.

Writing a NYT bestseller was a delightful experience. But there are many books which are read by few that should be read and reread by many, as well as books bought by many that are hardly worth the ink.

That's done. We don't need to be under the radar anymore; we need to be out there. It worked out really well. We didn't get too much too soon and it made us work for everything. Now you have to learn how to operate with all the attention.
