I was supposed to be out two months, but I returned three weeks later. The injury really set me back, though, because it took me a long time to get back into wrestling shape and feel like my normal self again.

I had a 102-degree temperature at one point and I wasn't back at full strength at sectional. I ended up throwing up between matches. It was a real disappointing way to end my sophomore season.

I am going to go to district this year, no excuses. My big goal is to be a state qualifier. If I can finish my season at state, and maybe even place there, I would feel like I've done my wrestling career justice.

I was really emotional afterward because I worked so hard to get to that point and my injury took it all away.
