I was tired of hearing people complain all the time. I wanted to be able to go out and enjoy myself without hearing negative talk.

When you're in the Caribbean, you're having the best time, you're hearing a lot of beats and rhythms that you don't hear in New York sometimes, 'cause then you come back and it's snowing.

If people aren't legal, then they aren't legal, and they should be doing something about it that to make it a more healthful place for everyone to live.

I think people's patience may be getting a little thin, from what I'm hearing my constituents say,

New York is great because it's such a cross-section of the world, and when you're used to people being shoulder-to-shoulder all the time - in the street, on the train - you become a people person. People are very open to hearing a lot of different perspectives, and they aren't as sensitive.

I think the nicest part was hearing from the parents that you listened.
