I went away for a week. I had time to do a bit of fishing and to play some golf, trying not to think about the decision I had to make. It did get to me a bit. I lay in bed at night thinking about whether I should or shouldn't do it. I think it was just good to get away from swimming.

Retiring at 57 was a good idea. But playing golf and boating and fishing got a little old after a while. If I was going to get back into basketball, I wanted to go be with somebody I knew.

Wonderful, quite idyllic, actually. It's very green, beautiful. Lots of golf courses, which was great for me. Lots of fishing areas, but lots of industrial areas as well, which weren't so nice.

That's not including any leisure activities such as golf, fishing or kayaking.

Golf and fishing. I usually do both at least once a week. The biggest fish I've ever caught was a 36 lb. carp.

Maturity plays a great part in golf. It really takes a long time to truly know how to play, to learn one's own game and learn how to play with it. Some players learn earlier, but even then they tend to peak later. I can't imagine Tiger being any different. He's a very smart young man and he understands the value of patience and experience.
