I wouldn't be nearly as ambitious if it weren't for my family. My parents are the coolest parents to have ever parented.

Raising a family is difficult enough. But it's even more difficult for single parents struggling to make ends meet. They don't need more obstacles. They need more opportunities.

This has ripped the family. The parents – they're devastated.

I also believe that parents, if they love you, will hold you up safely, above their swirling waters, and sometimes that means you'll never know what they endured, and you may treat them unkindly, in a way you otherwise wouldn't.
