I'm not exactly watching my back. Most people, there's a twinkle when they admonish me. And I've watched a lot of footage on YouTube of people's reactions to watching me.

I'm always coming back with too much footage. Most filmmakers do, but I'm always surprised that it keeps happening to me.

My mother-in-law, she never watched cricket in her life and she's watching it. It's because we're good at it again. It's come back. Cricket's come back to England.

As we set about to edit, I watched 150 hours of footage over and over for a period of months. I had to figure out what hanging out with these artists doing this joke meant. In that process some ideas began to emerge: craft and art, freedom and creativity, boundaries and taboos, etc. So we used comics' performances that illustrated those ideas. We wanted to show rather than tell.

People think I'm laid back, but there's a lot going on in my head.
