If Congress is unable to do its job and pass a federal budget, then I do not believe we should receive a salary.

Once we secure our borders - and the federal government has not done a good job - then Congress, I believe, needs to take up the issue and look at how we try and identify those people that are here, that are national security risks to the United States.

The outlook for the Federal budget is bleak.

I'm happy to work with Democrats. After all, they have to represent their districts just as I have to represent mine.

If to love each other is the job,
then the happy life is the salary.

Last year it took four votes to pass the budget and each time the budget kept getting depleted to what I thought was a dangerous point. I'm very happy to say the vote passed the first time out.
