If he voted today, he clearly would never vote for Republicans. He wouldn't support the war in Iraq. He would say this administration didn't have a plan. He would say they have broken international laws and they have now been spying on Americans. Paine would have been outraged that they had been acting in a way which would threaten American freedom.
