If his goal is to win the governor's office, then Pennsylvania history and a number of other impediments make him a very long shot in 2006. If his goal is to foster a discussion [about reform], then it's probably a good strategic move.

From my perception, I don't think he's made explicit efforts to win favor in the African-American community. Making speeches and making his presence felt at African-American events isn't a bad strategy , but if he's going to win, it's got to go beyond that.

This is not a new debate. Debates of voting methods have been going on for hundreds of years.

This certainly chips away at his honeymoon period. It's just more bad news.

Little things like this can add up and cause him to lose his 'golden boy' luster.

It will be a significant challenge for Santorum to show a divide between him and the White House.
