For many students, it's their first real taste of doing what's a piece of real research, and the idea of discovering something new has a strong motivational effect.

These students have sent a message, and hopefully it has been heard in the ... White House. However, we are asking all the students, as well as all the parents, that this message has to be done in a more constructive manner.

The stakes are high because there is added pressure on the districts this year not only to include more students, but to do well and to make sure that they show evidence that they have made adequate yearly progress.
