If we are not ashamed to think it, we should not be ashamed to say it.

What is morally wrong can never be advantageous, even when it enables you to make some gain that you believe to be to your advantage. The mere act of believing that some wrongful course of action constitutes an advantage is pernicious.

Would that I could discover truth as easily as I can uncover falsehood

If the truth were self-evident, eloquence would be unnecessary.

A library of wisdom, is more precious than all wealth, and all things that are desirable cannot be compared to it. Whoever therefore claims to be zealous of truth, of happiness, of wisdom or knowledge, must become a lover of books.
