If we had a whole wave of new leaders in the next five to seven years, black America would be a different place.

The crisis in black America is threefold...economic...political...and spiritual.

A fully functional multiracial society cannot be achieved without a sense of history and open, honest dialogue.

There are hundreds of political prisoners right now in America’s jails who were so taken by Malcolm [X’s} spirit that they became warriors and the powers that be understood them as warriors. They knew that a lot of these other middle-class [black] leaders were not warriors; they were professionals; they were careerists. But these warriors had callings, and they have paid an incalculable and immeasurable price in those cells.

A black agenda is jobs, jobs, jobs, quality education, investment in infrastructure and strong democratic regulation of corporations. The black agenda, at its best, looks at America from the vantage point of the least of these and asks what's best for all.

Community affairs or human relations and even that would have been and few between.
