If you live or work in Johnston, it'd be a great opportunity to get more involved in the community.

We know Johnston is a growing community. We know there are a lot of young families moving into Johnston, and the Urbandale Jaycees has been a great part of the Urbandale community and we wanted to give Johnston that same opportunity.

One of the reasons Rick and I wanted the opportunity was to work with really talented community members.

It's great to have the opportunity to be able to come to Diboll and work with the community and work with the children, and be able to go into another direction and help the district excel.

I grew up there and it was a great community to work for. There's just more opportunity...in a larger police department.

The unique thing about Jaycees vs. some other groups is that the Jaycees are primarily solely responsible for everything from the idea generation all the way through the execution and the evaluation. The reason we do that is a lot of young professionals have great potential, but in their day-to-day business life aren't truly given the opportunity to lead projects. This is the way to help them get that experience.
