If you put a face on a gay or lesbian person, it's harder to discriminate.

These schools need to learn from history and end religion-based oppression. The Bible has been used for centuries to make an outcast.

They outnumbered us. We had a peaceful vigil off campus. The second day, there were even more police.

The lilies are symbolic of both life and death. It's particularly fitting during the Christian Holy Week that we remember those whose lives were not able to bloom because of the despair they felt from their church's teachings on homosexuality.

We were turned away yesterday, and we heeded that, but today, we will not be deterred.

And let's not make any mistake, or gloss over that fact: Gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people are at risk every day of their lives. Not only are we the group most at risk of violence, we are most at risk of job discrimination, losing our families; homophobia retains its title as the last socially acceptable form of bigotry.
