If you use your vacation time to catch up on chores--or worse yet, don't take a vacation at all--you're not getting that essential recharging that relaxing time off can give you.

From dads, we most often hear it's time with the kids that's lacking. From women, it's usually self-care--an hour or two here or there to exercise, get a facial, read, or just think.

Often, people think, 'To get real balance, I'd have to radically change my life.' And that's not practical for many of us. But all you really need to do is make incremental change. Even making two or three relatively small changes, and freeing up a few extra hours a week, can make a huge difference.

We want to take a break. I just want to take a vacation. Maybe it's time for new and fresh ideas. We'll remain active with the society, but we want to have less responsibility in the operations.

I should take a page from my lawyer-every time I call, he's on vacation, four or five times a year.

To stack benefits on top of benefits and stack vacation time and cash it all out I think is inappropriate. I think we threw away $322,000. My hope is that we'll be able to recover the excess.
