I'm definitely [used to that]. I don't think I've ever been to camp knowing that I had a job. You come into camp and approach camp that you've got to go out there and win a spot.

It hasn't worked for others. We've got some great arms here and a lot of experience in Miceli. I'm looking forward to the whole battle through spring and to seeing what happens going into the season.

That's the vibe I'm getting from everybody -- this thing is wide open. There are some good guys competing for this job.

In the past, my slider's been really good -- that's my out pitch. Last year, it was average, at best, I thought. So I'm going to work on that this spring and get that going. ... [I want to] work on pounding the strike zone and going right after guys, make them put the ball in play instead of giving up free bases.

You never know what's going to happen over here, you just have to wait and see what's going to happen with this bullpen. I think it's an open bullpen. ... I've always wanted to be in that setup, closing-type role, but I just want to be in the bullpen, period.
