I'm getting pessimistic. I'm getting worried. We have about a week left -- at the most two weeks -- and we aren't to first base,

There's a week left, but it still feels like two or three more weeks, because there are so many questions. I wanted to be a [major league] baseball player since I saw my first game when I was 5. This is the closest I've been.

We're continuing where we left off last week. We've had three negotiating sessions within the last three weeks. Each side left willing to continue the discussions. Our intentions are to continue the sessions, and hopefully, get a contract. Both parties are going to pick up the discussion where we left off and hopefully continue to make progress.

This went on for about two weeks.

For me, it's better to be out for a week or two weeks, than be out for three months. It doesn't feel as bad as what they say, but I've never had a groin injury, so I don't know how long it will be. I don't feel I'll be out that long, for some reason. I don't know. I have to wait to put my stuff on, see how I feel.

We are really worried that the LAPD has really seen this week somehow as a week of redemption.
