I'm proud to be a woman. I feel a lot stronger, a lot sexier and I think that all of that is reflected in my music.

I'm glad the 'Indecent Proposal' thing came out the way it did, ... It would have thrown me right at the deep end. But it was a shame about 'Four Weddings and a Funeral.' They really wanted me to do it, but our schedules just didn't work. I was doing an album at the time.

When I first got sick, the neighbors were bringing dinner over for six months. Another woman did my laundry. Throughout the years, I have had a group of people here who have done whatever I needed.

I grew up in a different world than everyone else. I didn't know it was unusual for a woman with children to go to college and have a career. I didn't experience racism the way other people experienced it. She was so far ahead of her time.

The police said the woman had been talking to my daughter, but she never actually met up with her. They have cleared this woman of everything.

The tragedy, ... is that this woman needs something, and has expectations, that cannot be fully realized. And to keep herself in such an unforgiving environment, she goes back and forth between being really strong, and stupid about what her priorities are.
