I'm ready to come back fresh and run with my guys again.

I was very confident when it came down to my kick. I knew I could kick even a 25 [second split] for the last 200. As long as I didn't let any big gaps develop.

I feel like I'm a part of history when I run the Wanamaker Mile. The environment in the Garden really favors runners, especially in the mile.

Personally, I respect him. He is a world-class athlete. The man is a 10,000-meter runner, but he's going to challenge us. He can do anything. We've seen his speed.

When it comes down to it, I wanted to win wearing this (USA) uniform. I was going to run to my best so that we could win. It wasn't like running against the Kenyans. Today, it would have been nice to beat my old countrymen. At some point, I felt that I let my teammates down.

I believe I would have been in better shape than last year if my wife didn't have difficulties. It's not easy when it's your first competition and you're going to run 1:53 for the first 800. I kept on pushing until the end.
