I'm so proud of my guys, they really played their butts off. All year long we've prided ourselves on playing tough defense. We're not the biggest team but we're athletic and we play hard and we were fortunate tonight and got the win.

They're great kids and I feel fortunate to have been able to coach them. Not only are they good basketball players, they're great kids and they deserve everything that they've gotten. They all had different roles on the team but no one person's role was more important than the others.

With this group, it's just an honor to be a part of it. They have things you just can't teach.

That's just the kind of girl Meredith is. She's a team leader, a girl who works hard all the time and leads by example, and (senior) Chelsea Peters is another one. She's willing to do whatever we ask of her. She's a long jumper and she runs on some of our relays, and this year she's trying the high jump for the first time, too.

I hope people remember me as a guy who brought magic to the people. You know, pushed the boundaries of wonder.

It was great to get back on the mound and see a batter again. It's been a while.
