I'm trying to create a body of work that sort of represents something, and has something to say. Hopefully, I'll have a career that, 20 years from now, I'll look back and I'll have told the world about a slice of New York that they wouldn't have known about.

The idea of trying to create things that last - forever knowledge - has guided my work for a long time now.

It is a juggling act and I have been in it for 12 years now, which is about 11 years longer than I thought I would be, and then the priority there is thinking how can I stay somewhat irrelevant so that you can continue to survive and can continue to work and put yourself in a position to get to do the work you are truly passionate about.

I have to give credit where credit is due. She has gone above and beyond trying to figure out how best to manage everything. It wouldn't be right not to pat her on the back. She's very good at what she does.
