I'm very happy with the girls who have been working so hard both physically and mentally. It was nice to see them improve and beat some teams.

The girls did well for their fist race. For a lot of them, it was their absolute first race. But they ran well and we can certainly set some goals based on this.

Finally, the girls can smile and celebrate. I told them, 'We've been second all year. You've got nothing to lose. You can't lose second, and you've never had first, so don't worry about losing it. We've never had first, until today.

We want our girls to be exposed to this level of competition. It's good for building interest, and we have had about a 10 percent increase in sign-ups this year.

It's like I told the girls. You are one of the best eight teams in the state. And that is something to be very proud of.

I don't need to find one, I don't think. There are enough girls out there. Brooke is just a wrestler. That's what we want.
