In a temple everything should be serious except the thing that is being worshiped

People fashion their God after their own understanding. They make their God first and worship him afterwards.

It was not intended as a compliment. It was a confession. Now that I have made it, something seems to have gone out of me. Perhaps one should never put one's worship into words.

Yet the greatest temple in existence is not one found on a mountain top or in a jungle, it is far more simple than that, for there is no greater temple than one of the heart and mind. For what resides in it is constantly what is truly worshiped by a man, in feeling for it and reflecting on is what he prostates himself upon.

For what is truth? In matters of relogion, it is simply the opinion that has survived. In matters of science, it is the ultimate sensation. In matters of art, it is one's last mood.

Man can believe the impossible, but can never believe the improbable.
