In a way, I was incrediibly proud of her (not that I had any intention of letting it show while I was beating the crap out of her).

I do have a sister - I have two sisters.

Sisters. Because we all need someone who will defend us behind our back and then call us on our shit to our face.

I’d never told anyone the future I imagined for my sister and me, dreams that had been part of me as far back as I could remember, so long they’d grown roots and wings.

When I did see the story of Persephone, I was really drawn to it. Persephone, the goddess of spring, was kept from Olympus by her mother, Demeter, because Demeter was very worried that the gods of Olympus would do something terrible to her.

But things were different now. I finally had my head -pun intended- on straight.
