In general, those who came to the open house were not in disagreement with our recommendations. At the open house the only issue where people were really divided was size limits and that really just mirrors our feelings (as a committee) on this.

In general, they are lucky to get any of their recommendations adopted. A lot of commissions have filed reports, and no one pays attention. By the time they have done their work, attention has moved onto something else - which is, of course, the reason why presidents create commissions.

With my access, I've talked with most every owner, every general manager and every player in both leagues. There's not a lot of guys up for jobs all across baseball that can say that.

We want to make sure there's not any recommendations that come out of that program that may be in contrast with what we've proposed, ... We don't anticipate that there's going to be.

In general, 50 percent of searches do not lead to the desired outcome. Does anybody not believe that the search experience is going to be dramatically better 10 years from now? Does anybody deny it would be nice to search within the enterprise and outside the enterprise?
